No, it's not an alien planet, it's just Oregon. This is a special and unique place located in central Oregon where exposed clay infused with volcanic ash has created quite the tapestry. This photo was taken in the early spring so the clay was wet and especially vibrant. Also a rare time when the grass is actually green and not yellow.
